As a mental health professional and Biomedical Ethicist specializing in mourning, grief and loss, I was honored to be among the first to lead a support group centered around the grief-work issues of people who had recently lost their beloved animal companion.  In these lovingly rendered works, [her books] Christine Davis has offered a compellingly extraordinary rendition of whimsical intuition and sensitivity combined in just the right proportions around these difficult issues.  I would unreservedly recommend these books...they afford a positive role in the healing journey experienced by one who has lost his or her beloved animal friend." -- Geoffrey D Nusbaum, PhD

Animal Lovers grieve the loss of their animal companions often longer and harder than they do their human friends and family!  If you are suffering from the loss of your animals friends, or are facing the end of a life cycle, then keep reading.

"Although my own Forever Dog died many years ago, Christine Davis's marvelous little book brought me a fresh, joyful touch of healing to old wounds.  These books are a must for everyone who has ever loved a dog, lost a dog, or wondered where and how that love might live on.  I keep copies on hand and can't recommend it highly enough."  -- Susan Chernak McElroy, best selling author of Animals As Teachers & Healers, Why Buffalo Dance, Animals as Guides for the Soul among others...

Soon after the passing of my furry baby Gypsy I received the book For Every Dog an Angel. This wonderful little book brought me such comfort. As Gypsy brought the gift of love to my world, this book brought me the knowledge that Gypsy left indelible paw prints on my heart and from time to time I know Gypsy travels the angel bridge and visits me. -- Romy E., Glendora, CA

"I first heard of Christine Davis a few years ago after my daughter had ordered her book For Every Dog An Angel to give me after losing a little stray I’d only had for 9 months on New Years Day. Lucky came to us on St. Patrick’s Day (hence the name).

He was old, he was deaf and had cataracts and I felt like I just hadn’t had enough time with him. At the same time, Bandit, my border collie/lab mix was about 12 years old and was having many severe health issues. I actually had an appointment the next day to have him euthanized. I received a phone call from Christine inquiring as to how I was doing after losing Lucky and she hoped the book had helped somewhat. I broke down in tears and told her about Bandit – I actually thought that I was going to lose two dogs within 2 weeks of each other.

In the meantime, just prior to Thanksgiving, we had received a blessing by the name of Brandy. Christine suggested that perhaps it wasn’t Bandit’s time, that he might be depressed because of Lucky’s death and he might rally because of Brandy’s company. I cancelled the appointment for euthanasia and am happy to report that thanks to Brandy ‘s sweet spirit, Bandit remained us with another two years! I didn’t feel like he was in pain, just slow and infirm, but not suffering. This additional time gave us time to prepare for life after Bandit. I sensed when it was his time, my daughter flew home from Austin, friends came to say goodbye, our vet returned on his day off to take care of Bandit and he left us peacefully that day.

I believe that Christine intervened for the angels that day (or was an angel in disguise herself) when she suggested that it might not be Bandit’s time to go. The book For Every Dog An Angel had helped me so much because of it’s simple, meaningful way of celebrating the connection between myself and one of my forever dogs. Christine then wrote For Every Cat An Angel and I’ve given the books whenever a friend’s animal has passed on. The books are beautifully done and are special keepsakes.

Christine and I have never met in person, but she always takes the time to respond personally whenever I’ve placed an order over for the phone or online. She remembers my animal family and I have always felt a special bond with her. I can't recommend her books highly enough, and I hope they give you as much comfort as they have me and my family.

And the chance to talk with her on this wonderful interview was so much fun, and felt so healing! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!" -- Shari D., Azusa, CA
